We purchased our modest little 1950’s mid century ranch house in June, 2014. We knew she needed a lot of work to not only modernize the home but to also bring her back to her period appropriate glory. But she had “good bones” and it was love at first sight.
We didn’t have a big budget (or any budget at all for that matter) and at the time we were not especially handy as this was our first house. So this is our story of using our creativity and learning along the way to do a lot of the work ourselves, slowly, over the years.
